Alvin Snyder

Alvin Snyder served as a Senior Fellow in the formative years of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy, and before that was a Senior Fellow of the Annenberg Washington Program in Communication Policy Studies, where he authored the book “Warriors of Disinformation,” and was a frequent contributor of articles to the Washington Post and other major publications. For more than a decade he served at CBS News and WCBS-TV in New York as news writer, executive news editor, and executive news producer. For more than 5 years he was Deputy Special Assistant to two presidents in the White House, where helped establish the first White House Office of Communications, and also coordinated White House Press Office TV-related activities in the US and abroad. At the US Information Agency he was the founding director of Worldnet, the first global interactive satellite TV system. Later he was CEO of two corporations, one which developed the Modern Maturity Satellite TV Network for the American Association of Retired Persons, and another corporation that produced more than 150 TV satellite program promotions for the National Geographic Society, including those involving Robert Ballard's discovery of the Titanic and President Kennedy's PT-109, and those involving Jane Goodall's contributions as the world's foremost primatologist.
