Candidate for Master of Public Diplomacy, USC atatevos@usc.edu
Anoush Rima Tatevossian is a CPD contributing researcher on the PDiN (Public Diplomacy in the News) aggregation service for CPD. She is a graduate student in the Master of Public Diplomacy program, and is the Editor-in-Chief of Public Diplomacy ("PD") magazine.
Her interests within the realm of public diplomacy include the role of new media and ICTs, global civil society, cultural relations, public diplomacy's role in development, and nation-branding.
Prior to entering the Master of Public Diplomacy program at USC, she served as the Executive Director of the Armenian Volunteer Corps — an NGO based in Yerevan, Armenia — an organization devoted to assisting cross-cultural understanding and development by linking diasporans from around the world with ongoing efforts of nation-building in Armenia today.
Rima received her Bachelor's degree in Government, with a focus on civil society and development in the former Soviet Union, and a minor in Film Studies from the College of William & Mary in 2004.
In June 2009, Rima was awarded the first annual USC Center on Public Diplomacy Prize for Best Student Paper in Public Diplomacy for her exploration of the new, Web-based platforms for public diplomacy entitled "'Can You Hear Me Now?': Access to ICT Networks as an Imperative for Participation in Global Civil Society."
