Sherine B. Walton is the Deputy Director of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy, a cross disciplinary research and professional training center focused on public diplomacy as it is practiced internationally. As Deputy Director, she is in charge of the Center's daily operations and communication outreach to its diverse constituents. In addition to editing PDiN Monitor, Sherine is responsible for production of the Center's various publications including the CPD Blog, CPD Perspectives, CPD Book Reviews, Newsletters and monographs. In 2009 she relaunched the Center's website located at www.uscpublicdiplomacy.org.
Prior to joining the Center in 2007, she spent three years as Director of Development at the USC Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism, one of the country's premier journalism and communication schools. In this role, she oversaw the School's major gifts program and worked closely with the USC Center on Public Diplomacy to raise awareness and build financial support of its work.
Before coming to USC, Sherine was a Development Executive at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, responsible for the University's relations with UK Trusts and Foundations. From 1994-2000, she worked for The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, in Development and in the Egyptian Art Department. She has also worked at the American University in Cairo and at New York University.
Sherine received her B.A. in Political Science and French from Wellesley College, Massachusetts, and her M.A. in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, where she achieved ABD status in the doctoral program.
