NEW CPD PERSPECTIVES, “CAMPAIGNING FOR A SEAT ON THE UN SECURITY COUNCIL: A MIDDLE POWER REFLECTION”

The tenth paper in the 2011 CPD Perspectives series, "Campaigning For a Seat on the UN Security Council: A Middle Power Reflection on the Role of Public Diplomacy," examines how and when middle power states might apply public diplomacy tactics alongside traditional diplomatic practice to improve the likelihood of election to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). Author Caitlin Bryne, CPD Research Fellow, draws upon the past and current UNSC aspirations of Australia, to illustrate her points.
