USC CENTER ON PUBLIC DIPLOMACY ANNOUNCES NEW ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Los Angeles, CA – August 31, 2007 – The USC Center on Public Diplomacy at the Annenberg School is delighted to announce the hiring of Lisa J. Larsen, as Assistant Director for Programming and Events.

In this position Larsen will be responsible for coordinating all events hosted by the Center and for managing the annual Summer Institute in Advanced Public Diplomacy now in its third year.

“We are so pleased to have Lisa at the Center,” said Sherine B. Walton, Deputy Director of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy. “She brings an incredible array of skills and a truly professional approach to programming which will prove invaluable as the Center continues its upward trajectory.”

Prior to joining the Center, Larsen spent three years in the entertainment industry working most recently as a Creative Executive at Warner Independent Pictures where she was responsible for managing the story department and overseeing a number of Warner Independent projects. Larsen’s experience includes positions at Creative Artists Agency, Village Roadshow Pictures, Emerald Films and Zion Films, Inc. Her conviction in the influence of movies on global audiences, has contributed greatly to Larsen’s interest in public diplomacy.

Larsen is a graduate of Brigham Young University where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music, Dance, Theater.

The USC Center on Public Diplomacy was established in 2003 as a partnership between the USC Annenberg School for Communication and USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences' School of International Relations. It is a joint research, teaching and professional training center dedicated to furthering the study and practice of public diplomacy in the United States and around the world.
