Thailand’s culture comes to town

Grand Hyatt Doha yesterday launched a Thai festival which is to showcase the various cultural aspects of the southeast Asian nation. hai Ambassador Suvat Chirapant said the week-long festival, organised by the Thailand embassy “is to bring the traditional performers to Doha, in order to present an authentic cultural experience that would complement the Thai cuisine”.

Inter-cultural initiative helping world through troubled times: U.N. chief

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Saturday underscored the vital role a U.N. initiative on inter-cultural understanding plays in building trust and reducing tensions in a world facing multiple crises. The Alliance of Civilizations "is helping us to get through these troubled times," Ban told a ministerial meeting held at the U.N. Headquarters.

The British press’s Obama complex

Organized by Chinese embassy in Bangladesh, the exhibition displayed 60 photos in memory of 60 important moments in the development in China over the last 60 years.
