Poland placed 20th in the Top 100 Most Valuable Nation Brands prepared by the London-based Brand Finance, and showed the highest percentage growth rate in 2012 at 75%, the daily Puls Biznesu reported on Friday.

The ranking is led by the U.S., China and Germany.

This year Brand Poland was valued at USD 472 billion, up from USD 271 billion in 2011.

Europe was the most valuable region by brand value and the majority of European nations saw growth this year. This was led by Poland, placed 8th in the European ranking, which showed the highest percentage growth rate in 2012 at 75%, the report said.

Poland noted the highest percentage gain in the analysis due to the longtime GDP growth forecast and the fact it managed to avoid recession during the crisis. The authors of the report also expect a positive effect of Euro 2012 football championships on the national image of the country – Poland as the host of the tournament has gained reputation in the eyes of foreigners, the report said.

The Ukraine, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan and Lithuania also saw significant growth, and were in the top 10 brand value winners in 2012.
