India’s rich cultural heritage will be at show when the third India-Africa Forum Summit gets underway here on Tuesday.

Apart from a cultural event during the banquet being hosted by the President for the visiting dignitaries, a mix of Indian traditional cultural exposure to monuments as well as a modern fashion show, which will highlight the handlooms of Varanasi, two master chefs will also be at hand to teach the spouses of the 20 Heads of State on how to make delicious Indian food in a very short time.

“We will have a cultural component in the inaugural ceremony, which has not happened in the last two India-Africa Summits. It exhibits some of the traditions and cultures of India and also the brand new India, and how that new India can partner with a resurgent Africa,” Syed Akbaruddin, Chief Coordinator of the Summit, told newspersons on Monday.

Ruchira Khambhoj, who was earlier the chief of Protocol and is currently an Ambassador at UNESCO, has been called back for handling the cultural aspects of the Summit.

Besides, African artistes will also have performances not only in Delhi but also in other parts of the country, after the Summit is over.
