Celebrating European Folk Culture

This new video from Deutsche Welle News (DW) takes viewers inside the five-day Europeade Folk Culture Festival. The annual event, which showcases the various folk costumes, cultures and customs of more than 6,000 Europeans from 250 regions, celebrates the unique heritage of the continent. The festival is held in a different European country each year, with Sweden hosting the 2015 event. As the video reveals, the festival is an opportunity for both cross-cultural exchange and dialogue, as the participants come together “to dance, to sing, to make music and to show their culture and have respect for each other.”
