From June 7-8, the G7 summit took place in Krün, Germany. Host Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany, was joined by leaders from the U.S., U.K., France, Canada, Japan and Italy, all of whom comprise the G7 nations. On the two-day agenda were the key issues of climate change, radical extremism, the war in Ukraine, the global economy, as well as developmental policies to combat infectious diseases, protect the marine environment and empower women. This video reveals the results of the first day's meetings, in which the leaders agreed that a common approach is needed to reduce national dependencies on fossil fuels, limit greenhouse gas emissions, and stem the threat posed by radical organizations such as Boko Haram and ISIS.
