The British Council is going to start an 18-month cultural partnership review programme involving members of the council of India and the United Kingdom (UK).

Teachers and learners of English can now access a new resource to help build vocabulary and improve language skills thanks to the British Council’s latest Facebook app. Pic-Your-Wits is an interactive English vocabulary game with pixelated pictures for learners to guess the words and beat the clock. It is available on Facebook today for free.

Three medical students from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) University have returned to the Emirates after being granted a research scholarship to work in leading research laboratories in the United Kingdom (UK) as part of the British Council Research Scholarship Programme.

“Made In Britain: Contemporary Art from the British Council Collection 1980 – 2010” has been created in partnership with the Sichuan Provincial Museum, Xi’an Art Museum, Hong Kong Heritage Museum and Suzhou Museum, to provide the first opportunity for audiences in four regional cities in China to see original art works by leading British contemporary artists.

For the first time in history, the EU Film Festival will be held at the Centre for Performing Arts Theatre Complex Hall in Jaffna from December 1 to 5 at 1 pm and 3 pm, bringing new hope for peace and harmony through cultural ties.

The programme is aimed at improving confidence of teachers in using English, to create an atmosphere for students to interact in English and to encourage teachers to adopt child-centric methods in the classroom.
