The Thailand embassy in Qatar has presented Qatar National Library (QNL), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, with a number of valuable books as part of a visit by the Thai Ambassador Piroon Laismit aimed at promoting cultural relations and exchange.

Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Egypt in Azerbaijan and Director of the Embassy’s Cultural Centre Ahmed Sami Elaydy visited the Institute of Folklore of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), on February 5.

The Egyptian Ministry of Culture and the UAE’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development signed an agreement to launch an executive programme for cultural cooperation on 29 January.

Adish Mammadov, Azerbaijani ambassador to Sweden met with Per Olsson, State Secretary to the Minister for Culture and Democracy of Sweden.  The sides discussed development of cultural and humanitarian ties between Azerbaijan and Sweden, AzerTag state news agency reported.

Iran and Portugal have signed a cultural agreement to boost and reinforce bilateral cultural relations.  Pointing to the 500-year-old relationship between Iran and Portugal, the Iranian culture minister said, “This relation is unique and needs to be reinforced, and this cultural agreement helps promote the ties.”

The house of late Turkish businessman Mohamed Ali in Harar, a town 525km east of Addis Ababa, reflects the strong cultural relations that go back more than a century.  The house is now being transformed into a museum that will exhibit the culture and heritage of both countries.

 Iranian ambassador to Slovenia met with Slovenian Minister of Culture on Friday to discuss promotion of bilateral arts, cultural, religious ties.
