Kuwait Embassy in Canada and the country's National Council of Culture, Art and Letters (NCCAL) have launched Kuwait Cultural Days in Ottawa, marking 150th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation with the aim of promoting cultural exchange.

The UN General Assembly elected Kuwait, Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea, Peru and Poland to the UN Security Council on Friday for a two-year term beginning next year, ASharq Al-Awsat newspaper reported Saturday.Kuwait, which will replace Egypt in the seat representing the Arab world, received 188 votes out of the 193-member General Assembly. During the membership campaign that it launched in 2016, Kuwait pledged to adopt balanced policies in dealing with the issues on the agenda of the Security Council.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Information announced Thursday the launch of a campaign to support and aid Aleppo and Syrians in need. The ministry has launched a one-week plan on Wednesday to broadcast programs on aiding Aleppo on Kuwait TV, Assistant Undersecretary for Television Affairs Majeed Al-Jazzaf told KUNA. 

This is our target, to keep youth healthy, mind-wise, motivated, productive. You have to invest in the right culture. Leaving such spaces, now it's very dangerous, not for Arabs, but for the international community that many terrorist groups and fundamentalists and radical ideas can infiltrate the new media and new technology to the minds of children and youths and youngsters. They can implant their seeds for irregular thinking and bad doing.

Thousands of people descended at the Regency Hotel on Wednesday as Africans, Kuwaitis and expatriates celebrated Africa Day in a colorful style. The event featured lots of cultural displays – with each African country showcasing its rich tradition and cultural heritage in their respective booths. There were food fair, bonanza, free gifts and traditional dances. This is a good avenue to showcase African diversity and success.
