The Army’s First Infantry Division and the Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi has brought the second batch of selected children from Marawi City to a five-day educational tour in Manila. The five-day activity, dubbed as “Tabak Education Tour 2,” is from Tuesday, September 26, until Saturday, September 30. The children will be brought to selected locations in Manila including a simple meet and greet activity with President Rodrigo Duterte at Malacañang Palace.

 

A delegation of "Youth Ambassadors" organized by Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to the Philippines and Indonesia participated in the handing out of rice donated by Taiwanese civic groups in Manila to local disadvantaged families Monday. Under the MOFA's 2017 International Youth Ambassadors Exchange Program, the delegation, which arrived in the Philippines Saturday, visited Tondo, a district of Manila, with representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, the Taipei Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, and the local branch of Taiwan's Buddhist

Filipino historians, along with arts and culture professionals, discussed the need to revisit details and connections in history to further deepen relations in countries. The symposium, which was held in Ateneo de Manila University Ricardo Leong Hall and was organized by the Japan Foundation Manila, brought together Fukuoka Prize recipients in the Philippines to lecture on the relations between the two countries going way back to prehispanic times as trade partners.

German silent film musician and composer Pierre Oser is coming to Manila for the 3rd time this year to grace the 9th International Silent Film Festival, until Aug. 30, at the Edsa Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City. Working with Pierre for this gig is Filipino virtuoso Jaimar Palispis, associate director of the group KontraGaPi, an official ethnic music and dance ensemble of the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
