The U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy's annual report provides an overview of American public diplomacy. 

As Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan pointed out in his essay for the 2016 Soft Power 30 report, the concept of soft power is still relatively foreign to many diplomatic services in Latin America, but this is beginning to change. Several countries in the region have started developing their capabilities to tap into, systematize, and project soft power internationally. In conducting foreign policy, public diplomacy is a key instrument for countries to assert their views and leverage soft power assets.

One hundred and five Kogi residents living with various disabilities have been trained on various skills by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).[...] Mrs. Bola Oyelembu, the State Coordinator of USAID, in a brief speech at the ceremony, said that the initiative was to open windows of opportunity for people living with disabilities. “The programme aims at giving them some hope and encouragement; we wanted to let them know that they are loved and cherished by the society,” she said.
