Film and television works have an important role in transcending emotions and connecting different cultures, officials said at a symposium today. High-level translation is crucial to draw people from different countries closer and support the cultural development, Ding Wei, Vice Minister of Culture of China, said at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Sino-Foreign Audiovisual Translation and Dubbing (SFATD) Cooperation Workshop & Symposium.

Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance visited his Tunisian counterpart on Sunday. The Iranian minister said that Iran is ready to cooperate with Tunisia for translating precious Iranian works into Arabic.

Minister of Culture Dr. Mohamed Saber Arab confirmed during a meeting with Tajik ambassador to Egypt Narzullo Nazarov...that the two countries will cooperate in the field of translation while a protocol of cultural cooperation between the two countries will be signed and cultural agreements will be activated.

With cultural diplomacy, the idea is to bring people together on an international scale in a more socio-cultural context, rather than on a diplomatic basis.
