Fifteen PharmD students from the Keck School of Pharmacy embarked on an outreach trip to rural Romania to deliver much-needed medical care to citizens, according to USC News. Dr. Naomi Florea, an associate professor of clinical pharmacy, organized the two-week trip in July as part of the school’s Global Health Initiative. Three physicians and several Romanian translators accompanied the students.

Colleges in the U.S. are opening their doors — and their financial aid — to Syrian refugees. Over the past year, at least a dozen schools have promised to cover full or partial tuition for Syrian refugees who are accepted for enrollment. They join a coalition of more than 60 colleges that have started providing scholarships to Syrian students since the country’s civil war began in 2011.

The Center for Public Diplomacy at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism hosted a panel Tuesday to discuss the possibilities for transformation in the relationship between the United States and Mexico based on the result of the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Undergraduate Student Government’s International Student Assembly, had their International Food Fair on McCarthy Quad Thursday. ISA is part of the programming branch of USG, entrusted to promote the international student population’s concerns and interests, while providing cultural, educational experiences. 

The USC Center on Public Diplomacy hosted United States Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Richard Stengel on Wednesday at a forum discussion on the complexities surrounding public diplomacy in a hyper-connected world.
