Against the Wall

We meet the activists using non-violent resistance to oppose the construction of Israel’s separation wall.

Filmmaker: Ayed Nabaa

Now in its tenth year of construction, Israel’s separation wall stretches almost 450km. In some places, it cuts deep into the occupied West Bank, excluding Palestinian communities and annexing land around illegal Israeli settlements.

Against the Wall introduces some of the people protesting against the wall: from Palestinian villagers to Israeli and international activists.

Commonly confronted by tear gas and rubber bullets fired by Israeli troops, they maintain their protests, arguing that the wall not only threatens the livelihood of Palestinian communities, but also represents a land grab of territory that should be included in a future Palestinian state.

This film gives a voice to the civilians – both local and foreign – who are committed to standing up against the wall through non-violent resistance.
