Haiti - Diplomacy : The Minister of Culture received the Ambassador of Switzerland
Wednesday, Edita Vokral, Ambassador of Switzerland in Haiti, accompanied by Hans Reiser, Deputy Coordinator of the Swiss Cooperation, paid a visit to Jean Mario Dupuy, the Haitian Minister of Culture.

During this meeting, the Minister of Culture stressed the importance of culture for the development of Haiti, while touting the depth of the creative imagination of the Haitian people. "Culture is one factor that can contribute effectively to the development of the national economy."

For Dupuy, culture is a richness, also he believes, that it is necessary to create and repair the cultural infrastructure, finding new talents and create network operators.

The Minister took the opportunity to inform the Swiss Ambassador, of projects planned for summer 2012, including the "Summer on stage and on screen" and "Troubadour Festival in Cap Haitien." He also discussed the extension of networks of Centers for reading and cultural activities (CLAC) throughout the country, the development of spaces for the exhibition and the protection of works of arts, as well as development work at Champ de Mars, including the cinemas Rex and Triomphe.

The Ambassador Edita Vokral, welcomed the cooperation between the two countries and renewed the willingness of his country to support the Haitian government. The two personalities have pledged to work towards a strong and lasting bilateral cooperation.
