The Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP) aims to promote Peru's country brand by hosting a cocktail party for a hundred countries participating in the London Olympics.

"Peru is a source of pride, a great country. We must begin to show it. Along with Promperu [Peru’s export and tourism promotion board] we will hold a cocktail party for 100 countries in London to promote the Peru Brand," COP President Jose Quiñones said on Thursday.

Quiñones told Andina that the event will be held at St James's Palace in central London.

"The eyes of 200 countries and 4 billion people will be in London," he said, commenting on the importance of the ceremony.

"The Olympic games are the most heavily covered media event; about 4 billion people will watch it and we will display the Peru Brand on the athletes’s uniforms," he added.
