Ten years after the genocide that killed 1,050,000 in Rwanda, the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center opened in 2004, and was made possible by the British charity Aegis Trust. The center is comprised of a burial ground for about 250,000 genocide victims, exhibits, and the National Genocide Documentation Center.

The Facebook community page is being run by a Rwandan genocide survivor, Honoré Gatera, who also serves as a tour guide at the genocide memorial center.
