Whether it’s at a local or international level, everyone wants to be aware of the new policies being framed by the government, the services that are being started, and so on. To help people avail various services and take part in its initiatives, the government has launched several apps. Here are a few.

MEAIndia This app provides information relating to the Ministry of External Affairs’ citizen-centric services and outreach activities. It includes the following options: E-Citizen, Follow PM/EAM, Haj, Indian missions abroad, Kailash mansarovar yatra, Media Centre, Passport services and public diplomacy. It also provides regular alerts if notifications are allowed.

OnlineRTI - File RTI Online The Right to Information Act allows any Indian citizen to get information from the government. The app allows users to file an RTI application online and track its status. Here’s how it works. After you file the application, a team of RTI experts and lawyers go through your RTI application and draft it as per RTI best practices. The drafted application is sent to you for approval. If any modification is required, you can edit it. Once approved, the logistics team pays the required government fees. The application is packaged with all attachments and dispatched to the department concerned by Speed Post. The response from the government authorities will reach you within 30 days as mandated by the RTI law.

MyGov This app is an effort by the government to provide citizens a platform for connecting with it and contributing towards good governance. It requires users to first create a login after which they get access to sites of various government initiatives such as Swachh Bharat, My Gov Task Management, My Gov Blog, My Gov Newsletter, Open Government Data Platform, and so on. The app has a creative corner section where you can engage with various government departments through discussions, polls, blogs, and so on. The updates section has a constant feed of the initiatives of the government. You can click on the ones you are interested in and provide your feedback.
