Amelia received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College. After graduation she moved to Harare, Zimbabwe where she spent several years working as the film coordinator for the Zimbabwe International Film Festival Trust, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting visual literacy and encouraging cultural exchange. Her work in the Zimbabwean film industry inspired her to enroll in graduate study in media and communications.
Amelia first began working with CPD as a Sands Scholar during the 2003/2004 academic year while completing the second year of the Global Media and Communications program, a dual MSc/MA program offered by the London School of Economics and the USC Annenberg School.
Amelia is currently completing her fourth year of the Annenberg School PhD program in Communication. Her interest in the research agenda of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy provided one of her primary motivations for applying to the PhD program.
