CPD Director Participates in Ditchley Foundation Conference in U.K.

CPD director Philip Seib participated in a Ditchley Foundation conference, “Cultural Diplomacy: Does It Work?” at Ditchley Park in Oxfordshire, UK. The conferees examined cultural diplomacy related to states and NGOs, and considered the effects of globalization on culture as it is reflected in a nation’s character and in the work of individual artists. Seib’s blog about the conference can be found here.

While in the UK, Seib also delivered guest lectures about public diplomacy and Al Jazeera at Bournemouth University. In London, he met with officials at the House of Lords, British Museum, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
