The 2011 Budget proposal would eliminate VOA Croatian and Greek language broadcasts. As proposed in 2010 and accepted by the Congress, VOA Hindi will cease broadcasting in 2010, these savings are also reflected in the funding summary.
Ma describes his successful foreign policy
President Ma Ying-jeou said Monday that Taiwan is showing its soft power through its humanitarian aid to Haiti. Ma was speaking to relief teams who had returned from Haiti. President Ma also returned from a trip to Latin America where he brought ten tons of relief goods to the earthquake victims.
Thai-US relations are drifting apart
Whenever repatriations occur over here, key US lawmakers perceive them simply as an act of pushing out innocent people who could be prosecuted and mistreated at home.
