Cultural Campaign Meant to Improve Romania’s Image in Italy
The Ministry of Culture and Religious Affairs (MCC) intends to conduct a two-year cultural campaign meant to improve Romania's image in Italy in several towns and cities where large Romanian communities live. Minister of Culture and Religious Affairs Adrian Iorgulescu told a news conference on Tuesday that Romania had started an image offensive in Italy and the cultural component of this action was the task assigned to MCC by Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu.
U.S. Oversight Agency Dedicates Memorial To Slain Journalist
On July 15, the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) dedicated a memorial in Washington to 10 journalists who have been killed since 1954 in connection with their reporting work. The unveiling, at the headquarters of Voice of America (VOA) in Washington, was attended by representatives of all the media that fall under BBG supervision.
Lithuania Strengthens Cultural Relations with Latin America
The visit of President Valdas Adamkus to Latin America is accompanied by a rich Lithuanian cultural program.
