UAE Minister of Economy Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri recently received Francisca Elizabeth Mendez Escobar, Mexico's new Ambassador to the UAE, with whom he discussed ways to enhance cooperation in a number of priority areas for both countries. The meeting held at the ministry's Dubai headquarters touched on the results of the recent visit of a UAE delegation to Mexico headed by the minister, which identified various priority sectors of mutual interest for cooperation between the two countries.

Airpower diplomacy, also known as building partnerships by the U.S. Air Force, offers some distinct advantages over any alternatives. Best thought of as the non-kinetic application of air, space, and cyber power, airpower diplomacy is a form of soft power that’s useful in strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones—while protecting American interests.

The project was initiated by El Al CEO Eliezer Shkedi, a former head of the Israel Air Force, who said the national carrier would encourage its flight staff to engage in public diplomacy efforts in three North American cities served by the airline - New York, Los Angeles and Toronto.

Now, I don’t need to tell this audience that we know what the benefits are of these Open Skies agreements. They not only allow us to cross great distances, which I have been doing a lot of recently, but also to open up markets, create jobs, allow people in far -removed countries to interact, share information, and build businesses together.
