The Malaysian Medical Relief Society (Mercy Malaysia) today entered Gaza, Palestine, through the Rafah border crossing in Egypt to deliver humanitarian aid to the people there. According to the volunteer association, the mission this time is the first humanitarian mission allowed to enter through the Rafah border since Mercy Malaysia’s last working visit in 2014.

WHO and UNFPA are scaling up primary and reproductive health services in eastern Mosul to ensure life-saving care for more than 60,000 people living near the front lines. Two WHO mobile medical clinics were deployed to eastern Mosul as soon as access was possible, marking the first time that health aid reached people in the area since June 2014.

Conflicts such as the war raging in Syria have led to the displacement of more than 65 million people world-wide, the group says. To bring home the full impact, Doctors Without Borders has opened an interactive exhibit on Independence Mall where aid workers like Stewart walked visitors through exhibits describing the ordeal. Called "Forced From Home," the exhibit that opened over the weekend will be closed Monday but will reopen at 9 a.m. Tuesday and run through Nov. 13. 

The government of France and European Union (EU) have concluded plans to contribute the sum of €35.5 million in aid package for the rehabilitation and development of North-east Nigeria and especially Lake Chad Basin region devastated by the Boko Haram terrorism. The Adviser for Africa in the Office of the Presidency, L’Elysee, Paris, France, Mr. Thomas Melonio [...] stated that France in its ‘Lake Chad Initiative’ programme, will increase its financial and humanitarian input for the development of the Lake Chad region.

King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aids began distributing 30,000 baskets of food supplies to needy families in the Hudaydah province in Yemen. It's expected for this aid to help 180,000 people in need. The number of beneficiaries from the center's food programs in the province until the month of October will thus reach 400,000. The food programs have been implemented by a group of local and international partners. 

Several governments in Latin America have expressed their solidarity with Haiti and have offered humanitarian aid after Hurricane Matthew caused over 800 deaths and significant material losses in the Caribbean nation. Food, bottled water, mattresses as well as machinery to remove rubble and medical staff form part of the convoys that different Latin American countries have sent to help the island.

Secretary of State John Kerry said Friday the U.S. would seek a significant boost in humanitarian aid for the global refugee crisis and would urge at least 10 more countries to offer resettlement programs.
