A fully-equipped medical ship has set sail from Rosyth on an epic 6,600 mile transatlantic voyage to Peru. The Vine Trust's MV Forth Hope is heading to the remote Amazonian city of Iquitos in Peru where it will provide life-changing healthcare services to isolated and vulnerable communities.
Peru's country brand rose 11 spots in the Country Brand Ranking list released by Bloom Consulting, compared to its previous report. This way, Peru ranked 41st on a global scale for the 2017/18 period. According to Bloom Consulting, the Andean nation is reaping the rewards of a good Country Branding strategy. Peru overtook countries like Panama (42nd), Puerto Rico (43rd), Costa Rica (46th) and Chile (48th) in an overall ranking of 193 nations and territories.

Israeli emergency teams have deployed to Peru to support affected communities following floods and mudslides that have eviscerated much of the country’s infrastructure. The Peruvian government said it needed international aid to help hundreds of thousands of people displaced by flash floods and landslides. IsraAID deployed a team to support affected communities in impoverished and remote areas.

Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Peru is set to deepen political mutual trust, consolidate the traditional friendship between the two countries and mark a new milestone in the development of bilateral relations, said Chinese Ambassador to Peru Jia Guide.
During his Peruvian trip, Xi is also scheduled to attend the 24th APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in capital Lima. “It is believed that the two ancient civilisations, respectively located on the east and west coast of the Pacific Ocean, will write a new chapter of friendship under the political guidance of the two heads of state,” Jia added.
