The purpose of CultureGround, which was established in March 2012, is vague. CultureGround plans festivals, travel routes and even international exchange events and volunteer programs. Kim describes his company as creating diverse travel programs with the keywords “Learn, Enjoy, Share.” 

Nearly 100 young people in HCM City yesterday began their volunteer trip to neighbouring Laos as part of the “Red Holiday” and “Green Summer” campaigns launched by the city. [...] They will also present learning tools and scholarships to the two provinces’ youth unions, organise cultural and sports exchanges with local youths, and hand over a friendship house to the two provinces.

My friend Jack likes to tell his favorite story about a summer he spent volunteering in Colombia. He recounts that story anytime he’s handed the opportunity, at parties, lunch meetings and airports. He highlights varying facets of the story on different occasions — the snake he found in his tent, his camaraderie with the locals and his skills at haggling.
