National libraries of Iran and Zimbabwe sign MOU

Iran’s National Library and Archive and the National Archives of Zimbabwe inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for further cooperation on Saturday in Harare. Strengthening bilateral relations with African countries is one of the primary programs of Iran’s government and enhanced cultural ties influence both countries involved in the relationship.

Revitalizing Iraq’s Youth, One School at a Time

According to Stacy Barrios, the Kirkuk PRT chief of Public Diplomacy, the project was a combined initiative between the Kirkuk PRT, the Director General of Education, and U.S. forces in Iraq, in an effort to improve the educational infrastructure and environment in Kirkuk province. "The overall goal is to assist the Directorate of Education in fulfilling its goals in the province by helping to build its capacity to provide high quality education to all of the residents in Kirkuk province," Barrios explained.

Enchanting Taiwan at Sydney University

Not surprisingly, the University is a popular choice for Asian students, including many from Taiwan; and since the Library has a history of presenting varied and exciting exhibitions, it is an ideal showcase for the Enchanting Taiwan collection. The exhibition comprises 80 photographs. Selections have been shown in several Australian cities, but this is the first time that all of the works will be displayed together.

FutureBrand and Weber Shandwick yesterday released the new edition of the well-known Country Brand Index, undisputedly the most respected country brands index together with the Nation Brands Index. This year’s report has been pretty special for me as I (Nation-Branding.info editor Andreas Markessinis) had the honour to be elected as one of the world’s 40 country branding.
