New international marketing logo for South Africa

South Africa will now use one logo to market the country, following Cabinet's approval of a new international marketing logo. The new logo is designed to replace about 70 old logos that were used by the International Marketing Council and SA Tourism to represent South Africa. "The approval of the new logo marks the beginning of a new era in nation branding as South African entities will now go out to the world under a single, colourful, dynamic logo and positioning."

South Korea Creates Council to Help Improve Image Overseas

Some South Koreans think their nation has an image problem. While it ranks as one of the world's top economies, international surveys show that South Korea's brand value - how others perceive the country - is low. Now the government is trying to improve its reputation abroad. A television ad airing all over East Asia is aimed at luring tourists to South Korea. It showcases both traditional and modern glimpses of the country and ends with a catchphrase.

Israeli Minister Works to Improve Ties with World Jewry

[Edelstein's work:] at least to try and bring out the message that Israel is not only about the conflict. People don’t have the slightest idea about it. When checked in all kinds of polls taken in different countries, we find out that a normal person, when you say ‘Israel’ says ‘war,’ ‘terror.’ It’s not like that. Confucius institute opens at Unilag for teaching of Chinese language

Confucious Institute has been established at the University of Lagos which will provide Chinese language teaching at various levels, teaching Chinese language instructors and providing Chinese language teaching resources. Other services to be provided by the institute are...providing information and consultative services concerning China’s education, culture, and so forth, conducting language and cultural exchange activities between China and Nigeria.

Little Laos awaits its big moment
