CPD and The Black Policy Institute hosted an online conversation focusing on the impact of technology in Africa, with a deep dive into data sovereignty and policy implications. This session compared the African tech and AI landscape to Western counterparts, highlighting unique challenges and opportunities, and addressed the ease of data acquisition for AI development.

We discussed the importance of data ownership for economic empowerment and sustainable development in Africa, proposing actionable strategies within relevant policy frameworks. Key policy actions aimed at enhancing AI adoption and implementation were also be explored, aiming to overcome barriers and foster growth.
