Dean’s Forum with Andy Kohut

Dean Geoffrey Cowan hosted an open forum with Andy Kohut, to discuss the relationship of public opinion and public diplomacy in his upcoming visit to USC.

Andy Kohut is Director of the Pew Research Center for The People & Press in Washington, DC. Previously, Kohut was President of The Gallup Organization from 1979 to 1989. In 1989 he founded Princeton Survey Research Associates, an attitude and opinion research firm specializing in media, politics and public policy studies. Kohut is a press commentator on the meaning and interpretation of opinion poll results. He has written widely about public opinion for leading newspapers, and magazines, as well as for scholarly journals. Kohut has co-authored three books: The Diminishing Divide: Religions Changing Role in American Politics, The People, The Press and Politics and Estranged Friends? The Transatlantic Consequence of Societal Change. Kohut received the first Innovators Award from American Association Public Opinion Research for founding the Pew Research Center.
