About David Manning
Dave Manning is a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and writer on military history and international affairs. During his military career, he served for nearly 24 years throughout Europe with two brief tours in North Africa and Iran. After retiring in the fall of 1997, he served as military clothing specialist with AAFES down range in Bosnia, Croatia, and Hungary. He began dabbling in military history, and domestic and international defense affairs writing in 1999. His books include The Power of Oratory (1999); Notes on America; the World (2000); Ashes of Past and Honor (2003); and the Global Arms Books series (2010). Dave Manning resides in Simpsonville, SC.
