Lessons from the Information War over Ukraine

The information war underway amid the ongoing armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine is generating a formidable impact on global public opinion and the conduct of foreign policy. On September 6, 2022, CPD hosted a panel discussion with experts who addressed the characteristics of this phenomenon in the context of contemporary public diplomacy practice and study.

Watch Iryna Borovets, Director General for Public Diplomacy and Communications (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ukraine), Robert English, Associate Professor of International Relations, Slavic Languages and Literature and Environmental Studies (University of Southern California), Erik Nisbet, CPD Faculty Fellow and Director of the Center for Communication & Public Policy (Northwestern University) and Colleen Smith, Press Officer in the Bureau for European and Eurasian Affairs (U.S. Department of State) in a conversation and Q&A session moderated by Markos Kounalakis, CPD Advisory Board Member and Visiting Fellow, Hoover Institution.
