Obama’s Mideast Strategy: Useless if Not Harmful
By reinforcing Islamists’ version of history and calling it “public diplomacy,” Obama has systematically alienated the Israeli people. Polls currently show that Netanyahu’s approval rating among Israelis is at 65% – staggeringly high, especially by the standards of Israel’s fractious political system – while only 4% of Israeli Jews see Obama as pro-Israel.
How Helpful Is Cultural Diplomacy?
While other countries have been active exporters of their arts -- China and Great Britain come to mind -- the United States government has been reticent to invest in this form of diplomacy. I believe we need to abandon traditional forms of cultural diplomacy in favor of a new approach.

South Dakota Film Festival wraps up in Aberdeen
Movies that have a tie to South Dakota or neighboring states are regularly featured during the event, but the final session, during which 10 films from nine countries were shown, featured the finalists from the Manhattan Short Film Festival. The films were from the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Australia, Italy, France, Mozambique, Sweden and two from Spain.
