The Center on Public Diplomacy hosted an end-of-the-year open forum on "Journalism and Democracy: A View from Paris - What role does--and should--journalism play in democratic societies?" Our special guest for the discussion was Geraldine Muhlmann.
Geraldine Muhlmann is a Professor of Political Science and Political Philosophy at the University of Paris 11. Her research on "The journalist's eye: Historical Conditions and Political Implications since 1880" received Le Monde's award for academic research in 2003. She is the authors of two books: Of Political Journalism in a Democracy, and A Political History of Journalism.
