Multi-platform Content Strategy for Public Diplomacy
This workshop explores content-creation strategies and tactics to drive greater public diplomacy impact. It focuses on adapting to changing media consumption behavior and narrative formats. Participants will develop skillsets in producing content in a variety of formats and channels. The workshop comprises six modules:

Content Strategy for Multi-platform Public Diplomacy Campaigns
This module covers content development across platforms in the context of public diplomacy. Participants will create a content plan for a multi-platform campaign based on organizational goals.
Digital Storytelling for Public Diplomacy
How to create and share digital content in innovative and engaging ways. From mobile to desktop, participants will learn new tools and practices for digital storytelling.
Audio & Video Storytelling
This session will highlight the foundational principles of compelling audio storytelling, interviewing techniques, and how to share and integrate audio and video content across platforms.
Managing Media Relations for Public Diplomacy
How to get coverage and visibility of your organization’s story in this ever-dynamic media landscape? This module explores the core principles and best practices for engaging the media as part of public diplomacy outreach.
Virtual Reality and Immersive Storytelling for Public Diplomacy
The transformative experience of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) has arrived for public diplomacy applications. Participants will become familiar with the basics of immersive storytelling and what makes a compelling narrative. Additionally, you will learn how to use low-cost tools and techniques to create VR/AR stories for sharing across platforms.
Presenting Your Pitch Deck
This capstone session allows for stitching together the content from previous modules and presenting your content plan for critical feedback and future refinement.
This workshop is currently being rescheduled for Spring 2022. This program will include 17.5 content hours, with three days of on-site classes. You are expected to arrive on time and attend all modules. Unfortunately, there are no make-ups. COVID-19 protocols are in place requiring proof of vaccination status daily registration for campus access, and masks are required indoors. All scheduled meeting times will be in Pacific Time (time zone converter here).
