CPD Advisory Board Member Participates in Social Media Seminar in Cannes

CPD Advisory Board Member Simon Mainwaring participated in a social media seminar in Cannes June 21. Alongside Alec Ross, senior advisor for innovation of the U.S. Office of the Secretary of State, Mainwaring addressed the gathering on the power of social media.

Specifically, Mainwaring discussed how to utilize social media for advertising agencies. In a June 21 afaqs! article, Mainwaring says relationships couldn't be imposed in the online or social space; if advertisers need feedback from consumers, marketers need to invest time and own the relationship. He added that agencies need to be proactive and react to consumers in real time instead of waiting for research insights.
