A MESSAGE FROM CPD'S DIRECTOR

This year has been unlike any other in CPD’s nearly 20-year history, and has forced us to confront a number of unexpected challenges head-on. At the same time, this moment has demonstrated the immense value of public diplomacy and its critical role in addressing global crises—from the coronavirus pandemic to racial injustice and climate change.

As you flip through our 2019-2020 Annual Report, I hope you are encouraged by CPD’s ongoing efforts to bolster the study and practice of public diplomacy through numerous research initiatives, timely commentary and analysis, public convenings, and our one-of-a-kind professional training courses for public diplomacy practitioners.
