This past weekend, U.S. skateboarders from Cuba Skate, a Washington, DC NGO, visited Havana to deliver skateboards and other equipment to Cuban youth. Among the visitors was Neftalie Williams, a USC MPD graduate and advocate for sports diplomacy. Beyond bolstering the next generation of skateboarders, Cuba Skate acts as a bridge between U.S. and Cuban relations, facilitating two-way communication, cross-cultural understanding and ultimately, diplomatic reconciliation between the two nations.
