Multilateral Diplomacy: China, Japan and the U.S.

On June 7, 2016 CPD and Keio University co-hosted a private forum in Tokyo to explore a multilateral public diplomacy framework between China, Japan and the United States. The forum convened public diplomacy scholars and practitioners from these three countries to discuss opportunities for cooperation on a regional security policy. Other topics covered in this forum included the rise of non-state actors and civil society organizations within the international order; the growing divide between governments and publics due to changes in communication technologies and public diplomacy practitioners; and the influence of history and popular culture on trilateral understanding.
