CPD Releases 2016-17 Annual Report
This year
alone, CPD collaborated with Portland
Communications to jointly produce the
influential
Soft Power 30
report, and
forged significant partnerships with
CSIS and Oxford University; it received
research grants from the European Union
Delegation to the United States and
Global Ties, U.S.; launched a Summer
Associates program to help place
exceptional students in internships in DC;
and trained several dozen international
professionals in various aspects of PD.
Last year, CPD built on its momentum and made significant progress in deepening its impact in the field of public diplomacy. Despite resource constraints, investment in research and analysis was doubled to bolster the practice and ensure the enduring growth of the Center. Partnerships and audiences continued to expand, providing another testament to the increasing worldwide interest in PD. The 2016-17 Annual Report outlines collaborations with Portland Communications on the third annual publication of the influential Soft Power 30 report and partnerships with CSIS and Oxford University. Research grants from the European Union and Global Ties, U.S. are detailed as well as the launch of a Summer Associates program, expansion of the CPD Faculty Fellows and Research Fellowship and professional training opportunities.
In 2018, CPD will celebrate its 15th anniversary, and while we may reflect on our past achievements, we will devote the coming year to focusing on future directions for public diplomacy, anticipating and shaping innovations and advances in the field. As always, we welcome and appreciate your continued support and we invite you to join us as we step into the future!
