Pope Francis whose initiatives ranked first on CPD’s list of the Top 10 Public Diplomacy Stories of 2013 made a three-day visit to the Middle East and set another strong example of Faith Diplomacy. In his trip to the Holy Land, Pope Francis met with religious and political leaders representing Muslims, Christians and Jews; he visited various religious sites and made bold remarks about issues such as child abuse and global terrorism in an attempt to promote interfaith relations, mutual respect and tolerance.
