NEW: PDiN Monitor, November Issue

This latest issue of PDiN Monitor is titled Assessing China's Charm Offensive. Following a mandate by the Chinese Communist Party's plenary session in October there has been an increase in focus on China's cultural exports, and the rest of the world has taken note. This issue draws from the increasing media attention over the past month to China's rise, as well as its attempts to draw in more soft power.

Two of our resident China scholars contributed articles on the subject this month, taking differing perspectives. Di Wu provides an overview of China's recent efforts across a wide range of public diplomacy activities, in Made in China: The Recent Rise of Chinese Culture in Public Diplomacy. Peter Winter takes an external view, examining how China's image is perceived internationally in Exporting Chinese Culture.
