Chen Chen is a former research intern with the Center on Public Diplomacy’s World Expos Research project. He received his Masters in Public Diplomacy at USC’s Annenberg School for Communication & Journalism. His studies focus on the public diplomacy in China, the influence of new media, and the relationship between globalization and nationalism.
For the World Expo Research project, he mainly takes charge of the project’s media monitor. Also, he will design and operate a video blog on Shanghai Expo with Professor Jay Wang and other research interns. He hopes to have the chance to go to Shanghai and participate in the Shanghai World Expo in 2010.
Chen is originally from Northeast China and received his B.A. in Broadcasting Journalism from Tongji University at Shanghai in 2006. Prior to being a USC graduate student, he worked for China Central Television (CCTV) as a reporter in Beijing. He had edited several TV science programs.
Chen is the only child in his family, and is very fond of his parents. This is his first time being in a foreign country, and he believes that it will be a valuable life experience. In his spare time, he likes watching movies, listening to music and taking photos, and is also interested in recitals and playing piano.
