Description
This program offers USC graduate students, direct exposure to the academic and practical field of public diplomacy research and publications. Selected students assist CPD Research Fellows with their CPD projects. This unpaid position is an opportunity available to USC students to gain experience in academic research and scholarship in the field of public diplomacy.
Currently, we are accepting applications for the following projects:
CPD Project: “Political Dissent as Non-State Public Diplomacy”
CPD Project: “The United Nations’ Public Diplomacy in Donor Countries”
If you are interested to join any of these projects as a Research Assistant, please apply by sending an email to cpd@usc.edu, specify which project you would like to work on, include your CV, a cover letter and your availability for the remainder of the 2023-24 Academic year. Applications are due by March 15, 2024.

Requirements
- Current USC graduate student status
- Excellent conceptual and empirical research capability, writing and communications skills (in English)
- Reliable and professional work ethic
- Self-starter motivated to work independently and be regularly available for consultation with CPD staff and USC CPD Research Fellows
- Strong interest in research topic at hand
- Experience with qualitative research methodology, networking and interviews
- Experience and literacy using social media platforms
- Experience performing systemic literature review
