Michelle Obama Seeks Solutions for Child Obesity at Milan Expo

Uniting the World Through Basketball

At first glance, the 42 teenage boys going through drills and playing supervised pick-up games at Our Lady of the Lake University’s Mabee Gym appear to be cogs in the never-ending prep basketball machine. Clinics, fall leagues, AAU summer tournaments and camps such as this one fill the void between high school seasons. While many of the campers are from San Antonio and the Hill Country, others are from Romania, Macedonia and Kosovo.

The U.S. Asylum System’s Role in Protecting Global LGBT Rights

Nearly a decade before the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that U.S. laws which criminalize “homosexual conduct” are unconstitutional in the 2003 case Lawrence v. Texas, a gay Cuban man won protection in the United States from the persecution he faced in his native land because of his sexual orientation. It was the first time that persecution based on sexual orientation was established as valid grounds for asylum in the United States.

U.S., Chinese Universities to Launch Technology, Design Program
