Celebrate Korean culture at Des Moines Festival

The celebration is free and open to the public. There will be activities for children, such as traditional Korean games like yut, jek and Baduk. A calligraphy demonstration will illustrate the characters of the Korean alphabet. Traditions and cultural acts of the New Year will be presented and taught.

Public diplomats receive public thanks

This week, Poland honored three Americans - including friend Yale Richmond - for their years of public diplomacy work expanding the Fulbright program into Poland. The "state distinctions" were awarded on 8th February 2010 in Washington, DC, by the Head of the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, Władysław Stasiak.

Citizen Diplomats from Across America Gather in Nation’s Capital

In spite of a snowstorm of historic proportions, more than 200 citizen diplomats, out of 675 expected participants from across the United States, have reached Washington, D.C. to hone their skills at the National Council for International Visitors (NCIV) National Meeting, February 11-13.

Armenia is showcasing its close relationship with Iran at a delicate time in its negotiations with two other, less friendly neighbors: Azerbaijan and Turkey. With the normalization of Turkish-Armenian relations and the resolution of the Karabakh conflict looking increasingly problematic, authorities in Yerevan seem to be hedging their bets by pursuing more multi-million dollar commercial projects with Tehran.

European Parliament calls for “new climate diplomacy”

The European Union (EU) should create a "new climate diplomacy," and its future budget must provide enough funding to protect against, and adapt to, climate change, members of European Parliament (MEPs) said in a resolution approved on Wednesday.
